For the reader who
has plateaued.

You already have 1,500 to 3,000 passive words, but you stall on a classical text with no translation. Ifham is made for that moment.

Without Ifham

Reading that stalls.

One unknown word and you rush off to a paper dictionary or another app.
Constant translation keeps you at arm's length from the Arabic text.
You lose the thread, momentum fades, you close the book.

Questions

Your questions, answered.

When does the app launch?
Ifham is in active development. By joining the waitlist, you'll be notified the moment early access opens on iOS and Android.
Do I need to read Arabic already?
Yes. Ifham is for intermediate-advanced readers who already decode Arabic but plateau without a translation aid. It is not a method for absolute beginners.
Which texts are available?
The full Madinah Mushaf; five hadith collections (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Riyad as-Salihin, Bulugh al-Maram, Nawawi's Forty); the 39 mutūn of Shaykh ʿAbd al-Muḥsin al-Qāsim's programme, from the Ājurrūmiyya to the Ṭaḥāwiyya; and Scan for any Arabic book you photograph or import as PDF.
Can I read my own books?
Yes. Photograph a page or import a PDF, the text is recognised and every word becomes tappable, just like the Maktaba texts. Your books stay in your library and reopen at the last page read.
What about on a computer?
From the app, open Profile, then "Read on big screen", and scan the QR code. Your PDFs open in the browser with the same dictionary. The Chrome extension, for premium members, defines any Arabic word on any site and saves it to your personal dictionary.
Is the app free?
The account is free: reading the Quran, hadith and mutūn, the dictionary, 10 scans, 20 searches and a personal dictionary of 10 words. Premium makes scans, searches and the personal dictionary unlimited, and adds correction of misread words, extra themes and Arabic fonts, and the Chrome extension. Pricing will be shared at launch, with preferential terms for waitlist members.
On which devices?
Ifham is a native mobile app for iOS and Android, with an Apple or Google account. Your books and personal dictionary sync across devices, and a big-screen mode lets you read your PDFs from a computer.
