Terms of Use

Terakhir diperbarui: 8 Oktober 2026 · Privasi

Dokumen ini belum diterjemahkan. Versi bahasa Inggris ditampilkan di bawah.

These terms govern the use of Ifham: the mobile app, the large-screen mode, the Chrome extension and the ifham.app website. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. This is a translation of the French version, which prevails if the two differ.

1. Publisher and hosting

Ifham is published by the publisher of the Ifham app. Contact: hello@ifham.app.

The ifham.app website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States). The app's server is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany). Accounts and their data are hosted by Supabase.

2. The service

Ifham is a reading aid for Arabic. It lets you read the Quran, hadith collections, mutūn and your own books, open a word's entry by tapping it, save words to a personal dictionary and review them.

The service is meant for readers who can already decode Arabic. It changes regularly: features may be added, modified or removed.

3. Your account

Using the app requires an account, created with your Apple or Google account. The account is personal: do not share it, and keep access to your Apple or Google account secure.

If you are under 15, or under the age set by the law of your country, you need the agreement of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Free and premium plans

The free account gives access to reading, the dictionary and scanning, within usage limits (number of saved words, scans and searches) shown in the app. The premium plan lifts these limits and unlocks additional features, described in the app.

  • Subscription. Premium is purchased in the app, through the App Store or Google Play. The price, the duration and any trial period are shown before purchase.
  • Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation. You manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds and withdrawal. The purchase is made with Apple or Google. Their terms apply, and refund requests are made to them.
  • Premium codes. A premium code is personal, can be used once, and cannot be resold or exchanged for money.

Prices may change. A new price applies to an ongoing subscription only after prior notice, under the rules of the App Store or Google Play.

5. Your content

The books you photograph or import, your notes and your personal dictionary remain yours. You only allow us to process them to provide the service: recognising the text, showing entries, syncing your devices.

You are responsible for the content you import. Only import works you have the right to use for your personal use.

6. Rules of use

Ifham is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

  • extract the dictionary, entries or texts in bulk, or automate requests to the service;
  • get around the limits of the free plan or the security measures;
  • share, resell or transfer your account or your premium access;
  • use the service unlawfully or in a way that harms its operation or other users.

If these rules are broken, we may limit, suspend or close the account concerned.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its interface, its brand, the dictionary and the entries are protected. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for as long as you use the service.

The classical texts offered for reading belong to the common heritage. Their layout, their annotation and the tools that accompany them in Ifham remain protected.

8. Accuracy of entries and religious content

Dictionary entries are produced from lexical sources and, for some, written with the help of an artificial intelligence model. Recognition of a page's text is automatic. Despite the care taken, errors are possible. You can report them from the app.

Ifham is an aid for reading and studying the language. Entries and translations are not scholarly commentary, a religious opinion or a fatwa. For the meaning of a verse or a hadith, and for any religious question, refer to the works and the people of knowledge.

9. Availability

We do our best to keep Ifham available and reliable, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service may be suspended for maintenance or during an incident, on our side or at a provider. An internet connection is needed for most features.

10. Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we cannot be held liable for indirect damages, or for a loss of data caused by your device or by a use contrary to these terms.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law grants you as a consumer.

11. Personal data

How your data is processed is described in the privacy policy.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using Ifham at any time and ask for your account to be deleted by writing to hello@ifham.app. Deleting the account does not cancel an ongoing subscription: remember to cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.

13. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after that notice means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence. In case of a dispute, write to us first at hello@ifham.app: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the competent courts are those designated by law.
